Vineyard Group, LLC Managing Director Earns Third Professional Designation
Thomas P. Benson, CPA, CFFA, has successfully completed the certification process with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) to earn the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).
In making this announcement, NACVA Chief Executive Officer, Parnell Black, MBA, CPA, CVA, noted, “This designation is an explicit and strong indication to the professional community that Mr. Benson has met the association’s rigorous standards of professionalism, expertise, objectivity, and integrity in the fields of business valuation, litigation support, and related consulting disciplines.” Business valuations for privately held entities are performed for a wide variety of uses including buying or selling a business, succession or exit planning, estate tax planning and compliance, damage claims for business disruption or minority shareholder actions, Employee Stock Ownership Plans, and mergers or spin offs.
Requirements to earn the Certified Valuation Analyst designation include being a licensed Certified Public Accountant, completing NACVA’s extensive training program, and successfully completing the Association’s comprehensive two part examination process. To maintain his certification as a Certified Valuation Analyst, Mr. Benson will be required to meet stringent periodic continuing professional education and experience requirements in areas related to business valuation.
Thomas P. NACVA is an international organization that supports the users of business and intangible asset valuation services, forensic financial services, including damage determinations of all kinds and fraud prevention and detection by training and certifying financial professionals in these disciplines.
