Certified public accounting firm Buffamante Whipple Buttafaro (BWB) has been named to A.M. Best's Top 30 list of the U.S. audit firms based on the size of the firm's insurance practice.

A.M. Best is a nationwide rating service which assesses the financial stability of insurance companies within the total U.S. insurance industry and then rates those companies.

BWB's clients include property and casualty companies, plus title insurance companies and insurers involved in medical malpractice. BWB insurance clients are in the following states: New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Delaware and Maryland.

Key members of the BWB Insurance Group are Chad Madden of Jamestown, Jack Whipple of Olean, Michael Staley of Allegany, Peter Morgante of Jamestown and Sonja Johnson of Bemus Point.

Mr. Madden said, "This (Top 30 designation) is a significant accomplishment for BWB. Frankly, it's a little unusual within our industry to find a regional accounting firm like ours achieving this distinction.
